Dove policies

Legal

The terms, privacy details, community standards, and other policies that apply to Dove are collected here in one place.

Last updated September 20, 2026

Terms & Conditions

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Dove Social LLC. They cover who may use Dove, what you may and may not do here, what you owe us and what we owe you, and how disputes are resolved. Please read section 14, which requires most disputes to go to individual arbitration and waives class actions.

1. The agreement

These Terms form a contract between you and Dove Social LLC, a limited liability company organised under the laws of the State of [state of formation], with its registered office at [registered street address], [city, state, ZIP], United States.

By creating an account, or by using the Dove app or dove-app.com, you accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Community Guidelines, and our Cookie Policy. Those documents are part of this agreement. If you do not accept them, do not use Dove.

Where these Terms conflict with the Community Guidelines on a question of conduct, the Community Guidelines govern that question, and these Terms govern everything else.

2. Who may use Dove

You must be at least 18 years old. We ask for your date of birth at sign up and we close accounts that we believe belong to minors. There is no appeal from an age related closure other than proof of age.

You must be legally able to enter a contract, and you must not be barred from using our service under the law of your country or by a previous ban from Dove.

You may not use Dove if you have been convicted of, or are subject to a court order relating to, a felony, a violent crime, or any sexual offence, and you confirm that none of those apply to you each time you use the service. We do not run criminal background checks on members, and you should not assume we have.

One person, one account. Accounts are personal to you and you may not transfer, sell, or share yours.

3. Your account

Keep your login details secret, and tell us at Legal@dove-app.com if you think someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for activity that happens under your login.

You must give accurate information. Your photos must be of you, recent, and not misleading. Impersonating another person, real or invented, is a breach of these Terms.

Photo verification is optional, and members may choose to receive messages only from verified accounts. Verification tells other members that your photos match your face. It is not a background check, an identity guarantee, or an endorsement by Dove.

You may delete your account at any time from settings. Deletion is permanent, ends this agreement, and does not automatically refund anything you have paid.

4. What you may not do

Do not harass, threaten, stalk, defame, or incite violence against anyone, on or off Dove.

Do not post or send sexual content involving minors, non consensual sexual content, or content that sexualises a person who has not consented. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and to law enforcement.

Do not use Dove for commercial solicitation, escorting, sex work, recruitment, multi level marketing, cryptocurrency promotion, or fundraising.

Do not ask other members for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or financial details, and do not move conversations to another platform in order to do so.

Do not scrape, crawl, reverse engineer, decompile, use bots or automation against, resell access to, or attempt to breach the security of Dove.

Do not copy, record, screenshot and republish, or otherwise distribute another member's photos, messages, or personal information without their permission.

Do not create an account if you have been banned, and do not help a banned person return.

The Community Guidelines set out these standards in detail, and breaking them is breaking these Terms.

5. Content you post

You keep ownership of the photos, prompts, and messages you create. You are responsible for them, and you confirm you have the rights to everything you upload.

You grant Dove Social LLC a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for display, and distribute your content solely in order to operate, secure, and improve Dove. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for the limited safety and legal reasons described in our Privacy Policy, and except for content another member has lawfully retained in their own chat history.

We do not use your photos in advertising outside the app without asking you first.

We may remove content that breaches these Terms or the Community Guidelines, and we may do so without prior notice where the content is illegal or presents an immediate risk of harm.

6. Safety, and the limits of what we can promise

Dove gives you tools: blocking, in app reporting, photo verification, distance hiding, verified only messaging, and control over who sees you. Use them.

We are not responsible for the conduct of any member, online or in person. We do not vouch for anyone, we do not screen members against criminal or sex offender registries, and a verified badge is only a statement about photos.

Take ordinary precautions: meet in public, tell a friend where you are going, keep your own transport, do not send money, and do not share your home or work address early. Our Safety Hub has more.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, then report the account to us.

7. Purchases and subscriptions

If Dove offers paid features, the price, billing period, and renewal terms are shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then current price until cancelled.

Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed by that store, and you cancel through your store account, not through us. Cancelling stops the next renewal and does not shorten the period you already paid for.

Except where your local consumer law says otherwise, payments are non refundable and there are no refunds for partially used periods. Residents of jurisdictions with statutory withdrawal or cooling off rights, including the European Union and the United Kingdom, keep those rights in full.

If we close your account for a breach of these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund of unused paid time.

We may change prices. A price change applies from your next billing period, and we will tell you in advance.

8. Suspension and termination

We may warn you, limit your account, remove content, suspend you, or close your account permanently if you breach these Terms or the Community Guidelines, if your account presents a risk to other members, or if we are required to act by law.

Serious breaches, including sexual content involving minors, threats of violence, and financial scams, result in immediate permanent removal and, where appropriate, a report to law enforcement.

If we take action against your account we will tell you what happened and why, unless telling you would be unlawful or would compromise a safety investigation. You may appeal by writing to Legal@dove-app.com, and a person who was not involved in the original decision will review it. Members in the European Union also have the routes described on our Digital Services Act page.

You may end this agreement at any time by deleting your account.

9. Changes to the service and to these Terms

Dove evolves. We may add, change, or withdraw features, and we may stop offering the service in a country if the law or the economics require it.

We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will give you reasonable notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Dove after that date means you accept the new version. If you do not accept it, delete your account.

10. Third party services

Dove runs on the Apple App Store and Google Play and uses third party providers for hosting, payments, analytics, and moderation. Their terms apply to their part of the experience, and we are not responsible for their services.

Where Apple is involved, you acknowledge that this agreement is between you and Dove Social LLC and not with Apple, that Apple has no obligation to provide support for Dove, and that Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Disclaimers

Dove is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non infringement.

We do not promise that you will find a match, that the service will be uninterrupted or error free, or that any member is who they say they are.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence and for fraud. Consumers keep all mandatory rights under their local law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Dove Social LLC and its members, managers, employees, and providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill.

Our total liability to you for any claim relating to Dove is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred United States dollars.

These limits apply to the maximum extent permitted where you live, and some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dove Social LLC from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising out of your use of Dove, your content, your breach of these Terms, or your interactions with any other member, except to the extent caused by our own wrongdoing.

14. Disputes, governing law, and arbitration

These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the State of [state of formation], United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

Talk to us first. Before starting a formal proceeding, send a written notice of dispute to Legal@dove-app.com describing the problem and the resolution you want. We will try in good faith to resolve it within sixty days.

Binding individual arbitration. If we cannot resolve it, you and Dove Social LLC agree that any dispute will be settled by final and binding arbitration administered by a recognised arbitration provider under its consumer rules, before one arbitrator, in the county of your residence or by video where available. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.

Class action waiver. You and Dove Social LLC each waive the right to bring or join a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. The arbitrator may award relief only to the individual party seeking it.

Small claims carve out. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead of arbitration, and either of us may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or to stop unauthorised access.

Opt out. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing Legal@dove-app.com with your account email and the words "arbitration opt out" within thirty days of first accepting these Terms. Opting out does not affect any other part of this agreement.

This section does not apply where arbitration or a class waiver is unenforceable under the law that protects you as a consumer. In that case disputes go to the competent courts where you live.

15. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.

Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.

You may not assign this agreement. We may assign it to an affiliate or as part of a corporate transaction.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Dove Social LLC about the service.

Notices to us go to Legal@dove-app.com or to Dove Social LLC, [registered street address], [city, state, ZIP], United States. Notices to you go to the email address on your account or to a message in the app.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Dove Social LLC collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the control you have over it. It applies to the Dove mobile app, dove-app.com, and our support channels.

1. Who we are

Dove Social LLC ("Dove", "we", "us") operates the Dove app and dove-app.com. For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation we are the data controller of the personal information described in this policy.

Registered office: Dove Social LLC, [registered street address], [city, state, ZIP], United States.

You can reach us about anything in this policy at Legal@dove-app.com. Write "Privacy request" in the subject line and we will route it to the right person.

Dove is only for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We ask for your date of birth during sign up and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we close it and delete the data.

2. Information you give us

Account information. Your email address or phone number, a password or third party sign in token, and your date of birth. Your date of birth is used to confirm you are 18 or older and to show your age on your profile. You cannot change your date of birth yourself once your account exists, because it is an age assurance record.

Profile information. Your first name, the photos you upload (up to twelve), your written prompts, your interests, your gender and who you are interested in, and what you are looking for on Dove. Anything you put on your profile is visible to other members who can see you in Discover.

Photo verification. If you choose to verify, the app asks you to hold three short poses in front of your camera. We use the resulting images to check that the person in the pose is the person in your profile photos. Verification is optional, but unverified accounts can be limited by the "verified people only" setting other members turn on.

Location. You set the city and state Dove uses to find people near you. We use that to calculate approximate distance between members. You can hide your distance from your profile at any time in privacy settings, and your city continues to show while the miles do not.

Messages and content. The messages, images, and reactions you send through Dove, and the content of any report you file or support chat you start with us, including anything you send to our assistant Dovey on dove-app.com.

Payment information. If Dove offers paid features, purchases are processed by Apple, Google, or our payment processor. We receive a record of the transaction and its status. We never receive or store your full card number.

3. Information we collect automatically

Device and technical data. Device model, operating system, app version, language, time zone, crash reports, and an app install identifier.

Usage data. When you open the app, which screens you use, the likes and passes you make, matches formed, message activity at the metadata level, and settings you change. We use this to run the product, to fix problems, and to understand what is working.

Approximate network location. Your IP address gives us a coarse location. We use it for security, fraud prevention, and to comply with regional rules. It is not used to place you on a map.

Cookies and similar technologies on dove-app.com. See our Cookie Policy for the detail, including how to refuse anything that is not strictly necessary.

4. Why we use your information and our legal bases

To provide Dove. Creating your account, showing you people who match your discovery settings, delivering messages, and saving your preferences. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.

To keep people safe. Reviewing reports, detecting fake accounts, scams, and underage sign ups, enforcing our Community Guidelines and Terms, and keeping a record of enforcement so bad actors cannot simply start again. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a safe service, our legal obligations, and, where required, substantial public interest.

To verify identity. Checking your verification poses against your profile photos. Where this involves biometric processing, we rely on your explicit consent, which you give by choosing to verify and which you can withdraw by contacting us.

To improve the product. Understanding how features are used, diagnosing crashes, and testing changes. Legal basis: legitimate interest, or consent where local law requires it for analytics.

To communicate with you. Service messages about your account, security, and changes to these documents, plus the optional notifications you switch on for matches, likes, messages, and announcements. Legal basis: contract for service messages, consent for marketing.

To meet legal obligations. Responding to lawful requests, keeping records we are required to keep, and cooperating with regulators and law enforcement where we are legally required to do so.

5. Sensitive information

Some of what you choose to share on a dating service can reveal sensitive categories of personal information, for example your sexual orientation if you state who you are interested in. You choose whether to add that to your profile, and by adding it you consent to it being shown to other members who can see you.

Verification images can be treated as biometric information in some jurisdictions. We use them only to confirm that you are the person in your photos, we do not sell them, we do not use them for advertising, and we do not use them to build a face database. We retain them only as long as needed to complete and evidence verification, and no longer than twenty four months, unless a safety investigation requires otherwise.

We do not ask for health information, religious beliefs, political opinions, or government identification documents as a condition of using Dove.

6. Who we share information with

Other members. Your profile, and anything you send in a chat, is shared with the members you appear to and talk to. Do not put anything on your profile you would not want a stranger to see.

Service providers. Hosting and database providers, crash and analytics providers, communications providers, payment processors, and moderation tooling. They act on our instructions under written contracts, and they may not use your data for their own purposes. The categories in use on dove-app.com are listed on our third party SDK page.

Safety and legal. Law enforcement, regulators, or other parties where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, or is necessary to prevent serious harm, fraud, or a threat to someone's life or safety.

Corporate transactions. If Dove Social LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not share it for cross context behavioural advertising as those terms are used under California law.

7. International transfers

Dove Social LLC is based in the United States and our providers may process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where we move personal information out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or another lawful transfer mechanism, together with additional technical and contractual safeguards.

You can ask us for a summary of the transfer safeguards that apply to you by writing to Legal@dove-app.com.

8. How long we keep information

Your profile and messages are kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile disappears from Discover immediately and we delete or irreversibly anonymise your content within thirty days, except where we must keep something longer.

We keep a limited record after deletion where the law requires it, where there is an unresolved report, dispute, or investigation, or where a ban would otherwise be trivially evaded. That record is minimal, for example a hashed identifier, the reason for enforcement, and the date.

Support conversations, including chats with Dovey on our website, are kept for up to twenty four months so we can follow up and improve our answers.

9. Your rights

Everywhere. You can see and edit most of your information in the app, change your discovery and privacy settings at any time, and delete your account from settings.

Europe and the United Kingdom (GDPR and UK GDPR). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and object to processing, the right to data portability, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. Where you object to processing based on legitimate interests, we stop unless we have compelling grounds.

California (CCPA and CPRA). You have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the right to delete, the right to correct, the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.

Other United States states. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana, have comparable rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and appeal. If we decline a request you may appeal by replying to our decision.

Canada (PIPEDA). You may access and correct your personal information and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Brazil (LGPD). You have the rights of confirmation, access, correction, anonymisation, portability, deletion, and information about sharing, and you may complain to the ANPD.

Australia (Privacy Act). You may access and correct your personal information and complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

To exercise any right, write to Legal@dove-app.com from the address on your account, or use the in app tools. We respond within the time your law allows, normally within thirty days, and we may ask for information to confirm it is really you.

10. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, encryption at rest for stored content, access controls that limit staff access to what their role requires, logging of administrative actions, and regular review of our providers.

No service is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information and creates a risk to you, we will notify you and the relevant regulators in the time our law requires.

Please use a strong, unique password, and tell us at Legal@dove-app.com if you think someone else has access to your account.

11. Your choices and controls

Visibility. Turn off "Show me on Dove" to take your profile out of Discover while keeping your matches and chats.

Distance. Turn on "Hide my distance" so other members see your city but not the miles between you.

Activity. Turn off the active indicator so people cannot see when you were last online.

Who can message you. Restrict conversations so that only photo verified members can start one.

Discovery. Set your age range, your maximum distance, and who you are interested in.

Notifications. Choose which of matches, likes, messages, and announcements reach you.

Deletion. Delete your account from settings. Deletion is permanent and is not the same as logging out.

12. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the product or the law changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent.

13. Contact

Dove Social LLC, [registered street address], [city, state, ZIP], United States.

Privacy requests, complaints, and questions: Legal@dove-app.com.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom and you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work.

Community Guidelines

These rules apply to every profile, photo, prompt, and message on Dove. They are part of your agreement with Dove Social LLC, so breaking them is also a breach of our Terms. They exist for one reason: so that meeting someone here feels safe enough to be yourself.

1. Be a real adult person

You must be 18 or older. We ask for your date of birth at sign up, and any account we believe belongs to someone under 18 is removed. If you think a member is underage, report them immediately and we will treat it as urgent.

Be yourself. Your photos must show you, be recent, and not be so heavily edited or filtered that they mislead. No photos of other people as your own, no celebrities, no stock images, no AI generated faces presented as you.

One account per person. Do not run duplicates, and do not come back under a new account if you have been removed.

Photo verification is the fastest way to show you are real. It is optional, and some members choose to receive messages only from verified accounts.

2. Treat people the way you want to be treated

No harassment. That includes insults, repeated unwanted contact, threats, intimidation, stalking, and pressuring someone after they have said no or stopped replying.

No hate. Attacks on people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, disease, immigration status, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation get an account removed.

No unsolicited sexual content. Do not send explicit photos or explicit messages to someone who has not clearly invited them.

No shaming or outing. Do not screenshot and share someone's profile, photos, or messages to mock them, and never reveal someone's identity, orientation, or private information without their consent.

No violence. Threats, glorification of violence, and content from violent or extremist organisations are removed, and serious threats are reported to law enforcement.

3. Absolutely not, ever

Minors. Any sexual content involving a minor, any attempt to contact a minor for sexual purposes, and any photo of a child used in a sexual context results in immediate permanent removal and a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and to law enforcement.

Non consensual content. Intimate images shared without consent, secret recordings, and any content depicting sexual assault.

Trafficking and exploitation. Human trafficking, sex work, escorting, and any arrangement offering companionship or intimacy for money or gifts.

Illegal goods. Selling or sourcing drugs, weapons, counterfeit items, or stolen data.

Self harm promotion. Encouraging suicide, self harm, or disordered eating. If you are struggling, please contact a crisis line in your country, and our Safety Hub lists places to start.

4. No scams, no money, no sales

Nobody genuine will ask you for money. Do not send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or bank details to anyone you met here, whatever the story, however long you have been talking.

Common patterns to report on sight: a sudden emergency requiring cash, an investment or crypto tip, a request to move immediately to another messaging app, a request to verify yourself on an outside site, and anyone refusing a video call while pushing the relationship fast.

No commercial use. Dove is not for advertising, recruiting, promoting a business or channel, multi level marketing, political campaigning, or fundraising.

No links to external sites in profiles other than the ones Dove offers, and no collecting other members' contact details for any list.

5. Photos and profile content

Your main photo should clearly show your face. Group photos are fine further down, as long as it is obvious which person is you.

No nudity or sexually explicit imagery in profile photos, and no photos of minors, including your own children, even innocently.

No firearms, no drug use, no photos taken from someone else's account, and no images with contact details, phone numbers, or handles for other platforms.

Prompts and bios follow the same rules as messages. A joke that only works by insulting a group is not a joke here.

6. Privacy is part of respect

Do not share another member's photos, messages, full name, workplace, address, or anything else that identifies them outside Dove.

Be careful with your own details too. Use the tools: hide your distance, turn off your active status, restrict messages to verified members, or take yourself out of Discover entirely.

What you share in a chat can be screenshotted by the person you send it to. Share at the pace you are comfortable with.

7. Meeting in person

Meet in a public place the first few times, and arrange your own way there and back.

Tell a friend who you are meeting, where, and when you expect to be home.

Keep the conversation on Dove until you are comfortable, so that there is a record if something goes wrong.

You never owe anyone anything. Leaving early is always allowed, and if you feel unsafe, contact your local emergency services first, then report the account to us.

8. Reporting and blocking

Every profile and every chat has a report and a block option. Blocking is immediate, it is silent, and the other person is not told.

Reports go to our safety team with the recent conversation attached, so you do not need to screenshot anything. Reporting is confidential, and the person you report never learns who reported them.

We aim to review reports of immediate harm within twenty four hours, and all other reports within seventy two hours.

False reports made to harass someone are themselves a breach of these Guidelines.

9. What happens when someone breaks the rules

Depending on what happened, we may remove the content, limit an account's reach, suspend it temporarily, or remove it permanently. Context matters, and repeat behaviour escalates quickly.

The most serious categories in section 3, along with credible threats of violence and financial scams, skip the warning stage entirely and lead to permanent removal, with a report to law enforcement where appropriate.

We tell you what happened and why, unless doing so is unlawful or would compromise a safety investigation.

If you think we got it wrong, write to Legal@dove-app.com and a person who was not part of the first decision will review it. Members in the European Union also have the options set out on our Digital Services Act page.

10. Keeping these rules current

We update these Guidelines as we learn, and as new patterns of harm appear. The date at the top reflects the current version, and material changes are announced in the app.

If something feels wrong on Dove but is not written here, report it anyway. Tell us at Legal@dove-app.com, or through the chat on this website, and we will look.

Cookie Policy

Dove uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies, such as local storage and mobile identifiers, to run the site, remember your choices, and understand how the site performs.

What these technologies are

A cookie is a small file a site stores on your device. Local storage works in a similar way inside your browser, and mobile SDKs use device identifiers to do the equivalent job in an app.

Some are set by us, and some by providers who help us run parts of the service.

Strictly necessary

These keep the service working and cannot be switched off. They cover security and abuse prevention, load balancing, keeping you signed in, accessibility preferences, and remembering the anonymous identifier that keeps your support chat attached to you between visits.

Preferences

These remember choices you have made, such as language, or whether you have dismissed a banner. Without them the site still works, but it forgets your settings each visit.

Analytics

Where you consent, and where consent is required, analytics tell us in aggregate which pages are visited, how people move through the site, and where things load slowly or break. We use this to improve the site, not to build a profile about you.

Advertising

Where advertising technologies are used and permitted, they measure whether a campaign worked and limit how often the same advert is shown to you.

Dove does not use your private messages, verification media, or sensitive profile content for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

Your controls

Where a consent banner is shown, you can accept or reject non essential technologies and change your choice later from the same control.

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings, and mobile operating systems let you reset or limit advertising identifiers. Blocking strictly necessary technologies will stop parts of the site working.

Providers and changes

The providers we work with are listed on our third party SDK page, which we keep current as the list changes.

If we materially change how we use these technologies, we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent again. Questions can go to privacy@dove-app.com.

Digital Services Information

This page sets out how people can report illegal content on Dove, how we handle those reports, how moderation decisions are made and explained, and how to challenge a decision.

Reporting illegal content

Anyone can report content or behaviour they believe is illegal. In the app, use the report button on a profile or in a chat, which sends us the account, the conversation context, and your reason.

If you are not a Dove member, email safety@dove-app.com with the account details, a description of the content, why you believe it is illegal, and how we can contact you.

A useful report says what the content is, where it is, and why it breaks the law or our rules. Reports submitted in bad faith or at volume may be deprioritised.

How we handle a report

We confirm receipt, then a trained reviewer assesses the report against our Community Guidelines, our Terms, and applicable law. Automated systems help us prioritise and detect repeat patterns, and a person decides any case that leads to a suspension or removal.

Urgent reports, including credible threats, content involving minors, and non consensual intimate imagery, are escalated immediately and can be actioned at any hour.

Where content appears to involve a serious crime or a risk to life, we may notify the relevant authorities.

Measures we can take

Depending on severity and context we may remove content, restrict its visibility, limit features on an account, suspend an account temporarily, or remove an account permanently.

We also use less severe measures where they are appropriate, such as a warning, or asking someone to complete verification before continuing.

Telling people what happened

When we act against content or an account, we tell the affected person what we did, the ground for the decision, whether automated tools were involved, and how to appeal, unless the law prevents us from doing so.

We also tell the person who reported the content what the outcome was, in general terms.

Appeals

You can challenge a decision for six months from the day you are notified, by replying to the notice or writing to appeals@dove-app.com with the reference in your notice and why you believe the decision was wrong.

Appeals are reviewed by someone who was not involved in the original decision. If we got it wrong, we reverse the action and restore the content or the account.

Where it is available to you, you may also refer a dispute to a certified out of court dispute settlement body, and you can always pursue remedies in court.

Trusted flaggers and authorities

Reports from recognised trusted flaggers are prioritised and reviewed without undue delay.

Orders from courts or competent authorities to act against illegal content, or to provide information, are handled by our legal team, and we inform the issuing authority of the action taken.

Transparency and contact

We publish periodic reports covering the volume of reports received, the measures taken, the use of automated tools, and the outcome of appeals.

Our point of contact for users and for authorities is legal@dove-app.com. Correspondence can be sent in English.

Third Party Advertising and Analytics SDK List

Dove works with a small set of providers to run the app, keep it safe, and understand how it performs. This page describes each category, what it receives, and why.

How to read this page

Providers are grouped by what they do for us. For each group we describe the data involved and the purpose. We keep the list to what the app genuinely needs, and we review it whenever a provider is added or removed.

Everything here is subject to our Privacy Policy. No provider is permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

Hosting and infrastructure
