Community Guidelines

You must be 18 or older. We ask for your date of birth at sign up, and any account we believe belongs to someone under 18 is removed. If you think a member is underage, report them immediately and we will treat it as urgent.

Be yourself. Your photos must show you, be recent, and not be so heavily edited or filtered that they mislead. No photos of other people as your own, no celebrities, no stock images, no AI generated faces presented as you.

One account per person. Do not run duplicates, and do not come back under a new account if you have been removed.

Photo verification is the fastest way to show you are real. It is optional, and some members choose to receive messages only from verified accounts.

No harassment. That includes insults, repeated unwanted contact, threats, intimidation, stalking, and pressuring someone after they have said no or stopped replying.

No hate. Attacks on people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, disease, immigration status, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation get an account removed.

No unsolicited sexual content. Do not send explicit photos or explicit messages to someone who has not clearly invited them.

No shaming or outing. Do not screenshot and share someone's profile, photos, or messages to mock them, and never reveal someone's identity, orientation, or private information without their consent.

No violence. Threats, glorification of violence, and content from violent or extremist organisations are removed, and serious threats are reported to law enforcement.

Minors. Any sexual content involving a minor, any attempt to contact a minor for sexual purposes, and any photo of a child used in a sexual context results in immediate permanent removal and a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and to law enforcement.

Non consensual content. Intimate images shared without consent, secret recordings, and any content depicting sexual assault.

Trafficking and exploitation. Human trafficking, sex work, escorting, and any arrangement offering companionship or intimacy for money or gifts.

Illegal goods. Selling or sourcing drugs, weapons, counterfeit items, or stolen data.

Self harm promotion. Encouraging suicide, self harm, or disordered eating. If you are struggling, please contact a crisis line in your country, and our Safety Hub lists places to start.

Nobody genuine will ask you for money. Do not send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or bank details to anyone you met here, whatever the story, however long you have been talking.

Common patterns to report on sight: a sudden emergency requiring cash, an investment or crypto tip, a request to move immediately to another messaging app, a request to verify yourself on an outside site, and anyone refusing a video call while pushing the relationship fast.

No commercial use. Dove is not for advertising, recruiting, promoting a business or channel, multi level marketing, political campaigning, or fundraising.

No links to external sites in profiles other than the ones Dove offers, and no collecting other members' contact details for any list.

Your main photo should clearly show your face. Group photos are fine further down, as long as it is obvious which person is you.

No nudity or sexually explicit imagery in profile photos, and no photos of minors, including your own children, even innocently.

No firearms, no drug use, no photos taken from someone else's account, and no images with contact details, phone numbers, or handles for other platforms.

Prompts and bios follow the same rules as messages. A joke that only works by insulting a group is not a joke here.

Do not share another member's photos, messages, full name, workplace, address, or anything else that identifies them outside Dove.

Be careful with your own details too. Use the tools: hide your distance, turn off your active status, restrict messages to verified members, or take yourself out of Discover entirely.

What you share in a chat can be screenshotted by the person you send it to. Share at the pace you are comfortable with.

Meet in a public place the first few times, and arrange your own way there and back.

Tell a friend who you are meeting, where, and when you expect to be home.

Keep the conversation on Dove until you are comfortable, so that there is a record if something goes wrong.

You never owe anyone anything. Leaving early is always allowed, and if you feel unsafe, contact your local emergency services first, then report the account to us.

Every profile and every chat has a report and a block option. Blocking is immediate, it is silent, and the other person is not told.

Reports go to our safety team with the recent conversation attached, so you do not need to screenshot anything. Reporting is confidential, and the person you report never learns who reported them.

We aim to review reports of immediate harm within twenty four hours, and all other reports within seventy two hours.

False reports made to harass someone are themselves a breach of these Guidelines.

Depending on what happened, we may remove the content, limit an account's reach, suspend it temporarily, or remove it permanently. Context matters, and repeat behaviour escalates quickly.

The most serious categories in section 3, along with credible threats of violence and financial scams, skip the warning stage entirely and lead to permanent removal, with a report to law enforcement where appropriate.

We tell you what happened and why, unless doing so is unlawful or would compromise a safety investigation.

We update these Guidelines as we learn, and as new patterns of harm appear. The date at the top reflects the current version, and material changes are announced in the app.
