Community Guidelines

You must be 18 or older. We ask for your date of birth at sign up, and any account we believe belongs to someone under 18 is removed. If you think a member is underage, report them immediately and we will treat it as urgent.

Be yourself. Your photos must show you, be recent, and not be so heavily edited or filtered that they mislead. No photos of other people as your own, no celebrities, no stock images, no AI generated faces presented as you.

One account per person. Do not run duplicates, and do not come back under a new account if you have been removed.

Photo verification is the fastest way to show you are real. It is optional, and some members choose to receive messages only from verified accounts.

No harassment. That includes insults, repeated unwanted contact, threats, intimidation, stalking, and pressuring someone after they have said no or stopped replying.

No hate. Attacks on people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, disease, immigration status, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation get an account removed.

Consent and sexual conversation. Do not send explicit images or graphic sexual messages unless the recipient has clearly welcomed that kind of conversation. Stop immediately if the recipient objects, ignores a boundary, blocks you or asks you to stop. A match, earlier flirtation or previous consent does not mean consent to every later sexual message. Consensual adult discussion, without coercion or prohibited content, is not automatically a rule violation.

No shaming or outing. Do not screenshot and share someone's profile, photos, or messages to mock them, and never reveal someone's identity, orientation, or private information without their consent.

No violence. Threats, glorification of violence, and content from violent or extremist organisations are removed, and serious threats are reported to law enforcement.

Sexual content involving minors and attempts to exploit minors are prohibited. We take prompt protective action and report apparent child sexual abuse material as applicable law requires. We may preserve relevant evidence in accordance with law.

Non consensual content. Intimate images shared without consent, secret recordings, and any content depicting sexual assault.

Trafficking and exploitation. Human trafficking, sex work, escorting, and any arrangement offering companionship or intimacy for money or gifts.

Illegal goods. Selling or sourcing drugs, weapons, counterfeit items, or stolen data.

Self harm promotion. Encouraging suicide, self harm, or disordered eating. If you are struggling, please contact a crisis line in your country, and our Safety Hub lists places to start.

Requests for money can be a sign of fraud. Do not send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or bank details to anyone you met here, whatever the story, however long you have been talking.

No commercial use. Dove is not for advertising, recruiting, promoting a business or channel, multi level marketing, political campaigning, or fundraising.

No links to external sites in profiles other than the ones Dove offers, and no collecting other members' contact details for any list.

Your main photo should clearly show your face. Group photos are fine further down, as long as it is obvious which person is you.

No nudity or sexually explicit imagery in profile photos, and no photos of minors, including your own children, even innocently.

No firearms, no drug use, no photos taken from someone else's account, and no images with contact details, phone numbers, or handles for other platforms.

Prompts and bios follow the same rules as messages. A joke that only works by insulting a group is not a joke here.

Do not share another member's photos, messages, full name, workplace, address, or anything else that identifies them outside Dove.

Be careful with your own details too. Use the tools: hide your distance, turn off your active status, restrict messages to verified members, or take yourself out of Discover entirely.

What you share in a chat can be screenshotted by the person you send it to. Share at the pace you are comfortable with.

Meet in a public place the first few times, and arrange your own way there and back.

Tell a friend who you are meeting, where, and when you expect to be home.

Keep the conversation on Dove until you are comfortable, so that there is a record if something goes wrong.

You never owe anyone anything. Leaving early is always allowed, and if you feel unsafe, contact your local emergency services first, then report the account to us.

Dove offers profile and chat reporting and blocking. Blocking prevents ordinary direct interaction, but cannot guarantee the blocked member learns nothing or cannot infer the action. Reporting and blocking are also available when members encounter content through discovery, likes, or message requests.

Reports may include relevant profile or conversation context needed to investigate. We limit disclosure of a reporter’s identity but cannot promise absolute confidentiality, including where disclosure is legally required or reasonably inferable.

We prioritize reports about imminent harm, minors, credible threats, and nonconsensual intimate imagery. Review times depend on severity, volume, and available evidence; do not rely on Dove for emergency response.

False reports made to harass someone are themselves a breach of these Guidelines.

Responses depend on context and severity. A first lower severity violation may receive a warning, content removal or feature limit. Repeated harassment, unwanted sexual messages, hate or ban evasion may lead to suspension. Severe threats, exploitation, nonconsensual intimate imagery, child sexual abuse material or significant fraud may lead to immediate restriction or removal without a warning. A person reviews a safety bot flag before any suspension based on that flag.

Serious abuse may lead to immediate removal or restriction without a warning. We report to authorities where legally required or appropriate to address a serious threat. Outcomes depend on the evidence and applicable law.

We tell you what happened and why, unless doing so is unlawful or would compromise a safety investigation.

If you think an action was mistaken, file an appeal through Dove's website with the decision notice and relevant context. A different person from the original decision maker reviews the appeal and we explain the result where reasonably possible, subject to safety and legal limits.

We update these Guidelines as we learn, and as new patterns of harm appear. The date at the top reflects the current version, and material changes are announced in the app.
